Benin, August 25, 2026 – At 14:00 local time on August 18, a crowd gathered in front of the mosque in Barei Village, Djougou District, Collines Department, Benin. This marks another livelihood water well successfully implemented under De Cheng's "Ten Hundred Thousand" public welfare program in Africa, signaling the accelerated progress of this initiative across the continent.

Ceremony Scene: Soil Together, Spring Shared

The commissioning ceremony commenced at 14:00, with hundreds of villagers in attendance. Local women dressed in festive attire, children played near the well, and many villagers actively assisted with the on-site arrangements.

"This well reaches a depth of approximately 101 meters and can supply daily drinking and domestic water to residents within a 1-2 kilometer radius. Unlike most fee-charging wells in the Djougou area, this well, jointly sponsored by APSONIC and partner Mr. ISSA, is completely free of charge for villagers to access," explained He Mingjun, De Cheng's project coordinator.

The king of Barei Village, on behalf of all villagers, expressed sincere gratitude to APSONIC. He stated: "Water is the source of life.
