DeCheng Sounds the Bugle to March into Africa's Electric Vehicle Market

Apr 24, 2026

January 11, 2026. Amid fluttering colorful banners and blaring vehicle horns, DeCheng Holding Group officially set sail with its first batch of 600 electric passenger three-wheeler motorcycles tailor-made for the African market, bound for Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin and relevant East African countries.

Rooted in two decades of market cultivation in Africa, this move marks DeCheng’s strategic declaration to reshape West Africa’s mobility ecosystem with green products, and stands as another landmark event in China’s electric motorcycle exports to Africa.

Strategic Breakthrough: Two Decades of Deep Cultivation, Betting on the New Energy Track

As a seasoned player with 20 years of in-depth engagement in Africa’s mobility market, DeCheng is well aware of local people’s pressing demand for convenient, economical and eco-friendly travel amid the dual backdrop of global energy transition and Africa’s mobility upgrading. The Group has officially embarked on a strategic transformation toward green intelligence.

In August 2024, DeCheng established its global new energy business operation platform — Guangzhou Yili New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. It launched a portfolio of brands including EVODA, EVODA-ENERGY and OTO covering products, energy replenishment services and operation platforms, signaling the systematic advancement of its new energy business.

To precisely cater to African market needs, DeCheng assembled a cross-border team comprising experts in vehicle engineering, three-electric system technology, Internet of Vehicles (IoV) and local African markets. Through multiple rounds of field research and product iteration, the Group strives to develop new energy products perfectly adaptive to Africa’s road conditions, climate and usage habits.

In September 2025, the prototype of a new-generation electric vehicle ecosystem, integrated with cutting-edge new energy, IoT and internet technologies, was officially launched and verified through high-intensity scenario tests. In the same year, OTO (On Time Go), DeCheng’s self-developed ecological terminal operation system for electric vehicles, went online successfully. It realized full-link intelligent interconnection among vehicles, users and service platforms, injecting core momentum into operational efficiency and travel safety, and building a complete ecological closed loop covering product R&D – technical support – operational services.

Product Innovation: Trinity Model Solves Africa’s Mobility Pain Points

The electric passenger three-wheelers shipped to West Africa embody the perfect integration of DeCheng’s technological strength and market insight. Adopting an innovative trinity model of new energy power + IoV platform + battery swapping & charging network, it directly addresses the core pain points of mobility in Africa:

  • Empowerment with green power: Equipped with a customized three-electric system, it adapts to Africa’s complex road conditions with long endurance and zero emissions, supporting local ecological conservation.

  • Upgraded intelligent interconnection: The OTO IoV platform enables remote monitoring, intelligent scheduling and one-click response to fault alerts, boosting the efficiency of operation and management.

  • Revolutionized ultra-fast energy replenishment: The Group deploys battery swapping stations via self-construction and franchise models. A battery replacement can be completed within 5 minutes, completely eliminating the range anxiety of electric vehicle travel and making convenient mobility accessible to all.

Every electric vehicle embodies DeCheng’s in-depth understanding of African users. From body design and functional configuration to after-sales service and operation & maintenance support, it fully meets diverse local demands for passenger transport, logistics and other travel scenarios, poised to become the preferred mobility choice for West African users.

Future Vision: Reshaping Africa’s Mobility Ecosystem

The launch of DeCheng’s first batch of electric passenger three-wheelers into the West African mobility market marks the Group’s official march into Africa’s electric vehicle sector. Meanwhile, self-developed electric two-wheeler motorcycles tailored for the African market will be launched in the second half of 2026.

Going forward, rooted in Africa, DeCheng upholds the vision of reshaping Africa’s mobility ecosystem and making clean, intelligent and affordable electric vehicles accessible to every household. It will fully drive the green upgrading of travel modes for African people and support Africa’s pursuit of sustainable transportation development.

The new energy business will serve as the core growth engine for the high-quality development of DeCheng Holding Group. It will not only provide African users with superior travel options, but also boost local employment, the construction of charging and battery swapping infrastructure and the upgrading of related industries, fulfilling the shared vision of win-win development for enterprises and regional economies.

Evolving from single-product export to full ecological service empowerment, and from optimizing urban mobility to boosting regional economic development, DeCheng acts as a bridge with green technology and a bond built on two decades of trust. Hand in hand with African partners, it is writing a new chapter of green mobility in West Africa and forging ahead toward a sustainable future.
